Tell about the app you need using simple, everyday language, and Power Apps can create a starting base for your team to build the app using screens, data and logic. Planning tools can be used to visualise processes and data models first, and AI can automatically fill in forms based on emails, documents, and images.
Microsoft 365 Copilot is being brought into Power Apps, with Copilot chat available in model-driven apps and rolling out to canvas apps. An agent feed lets users oversee and guide AI agents within the app. Some features are still in preview, and we recommend what is available for production.
IT retains control, doesn't slow down makers. Central policies include environments, data loss prevention, access and auditing, and deployment pipelines that can safely transport apps from development to production. Power Apps Developer plan is available for free to build and test. For running apps in production, users must have a licence – some Microsoft 365 plans support limited use of Power Apps, and Power Apps Premium is available on an annual basis for a per-user-per-month charge. The per-app plan is no longer available. The price varies based on region, so we verify the Australian dollar price and the lowest combination of licenses before signing before you sign.
Power Apps is a platform for creating apps. Built on the Power Platform foundation, Dynamics 365 consists of pre-designed business applications for finance, supply chain, sales and service, HR and more. Many companies are utilising both: Dynamics 365 for the core apps and Power Apps for the niche apps surrounding it. We assist you in comparing licensing so that you will not be paying twice for the same feature.
Microsoft Dataverse is the data repository for Power Apps and contains security roles, auditing and backup capabilities. In addition to SQL Server, there are connectors that can be used to connect to many other sources. If a connection is used by an app, it accesses the data in that app under the permissions of that connection. Access is carefully designed, ensuring that no more is seen than is appropriate.
Neither. Low-code provides developers with another tool: simple apps move quicker, and they can concentrate on the complicated work. Makers will be less likely to use shadow IT when there is a clear guideline on how to share, access and deploy data inside building environments. We install those guardrails at the outset, and provide support to keep apps running after the original developer leaves the picture.
Power Apps is ideal for business apps that interact with Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365, or your on-premises data stores, particularly when security, governance, and the need for continuous support are concerns. AI-driven app builders can create a prototype rapidly, though they typically don't address the questions of testing, deployment and management. Power Apps is a blend of AI building and enterprise controls. If you're looking for the ideal solution for a particularly specialised product, custom software might still be a more suitable choice, and we will voice our opinion.
